One week in to Season 2 - 52 million resources

image We are just about one week into season 2 and I wanted to share some statistics and also share a bit of information about an upcoming patch this weekend.

Some stats

The game gathers statistic about every resource in the game and aggregates it.

image

This first image shows how many resources that have been generated and destroyed per tier of resource.

Tier 0 in this case is anything that doesn't have a clear tier the way that resources do (things like craftable resources).

As you can see, the majority of generated resources are t1 resources. And some estates have started to generate t4 resources, either by producing them from buildings or via voyages, bandits, bounties or some other mean.

This second image shows what specific resource that have been generated and in what quantities. No surprise that wheat is by far the most produced as alliances have begun claiming territory and thus need to sustain larger armies.

One thing of interest, if you are interested in these kinds of things, is that planks and slabs have gone from top 10 most created to much lower as they are primarily used for constructing / upgrading buildings and not used in any upstream resource chain. Once players start to establish most of their buildings, consumption halts.

For the last statistics image we can also look at source and efficiency per resource type.

Here i have picked wheat as an example and you can see that most wheat is created by estate production (farms) and mostly consumed by food upkeep from troops and experts. The dark green part is the amount of resource that was destroyed by overflow, so when an estate would gain wheat from production but is at or above its cap. A perfectly efficient estate would have 0 loss from overflow.

One final note of interest is that the rich truly get richer, the top 5 players generate close to 85% of all resources.

In total since the launch of S2 players have generated almost 52 million resources combined. Impressive!

What's coming next?

While war is currently raging on the island, something a bit more peaceful is coming to estates this weekend.

Players spend a lot of time in their estate, building and upgrading. We want the estate to not only be efficient, but also look nice. Therefore we have spent time on further improving the graphics and systems around designing and beautifying the estate.

This includes terrain improvements, a re-designed Doodad system, more realistic rivers (bäckar), bridges and more.

We have also improved on the very early on-boarding experience for new players. IB is a complex game, we need to do a good job explaining it. But also for existing players we have added new QoL improvements and will continue to make adjustments to have the game feel great moment to moment.

Stay alert this weekend for the update and let us know what you think on Discord, Reddit or in-game.

We will also update the battle pass for the new season, anyone interesting in supporting the game financially can purchase the updated one early next week. It's good value for money.
